For Philadelphia, 2018
An American artist, Jenny Holzer focuses on the delivery of words and ideas in public space. Her intricate digital installation presents 17 hours of continuous content, including writings by international architects, visionaries and poets as well as Philadelphia-based writers and schoolchildren. The nine scrolling screens lining the ceiling of the Comcast Technology Center lobby run like stock tickers. They are emblematic of Jenny’s decades of work, which often centers on placing thought-provoking one-liners in public spaces.
The installation spans the building’s ceiling between 18th and 19th Streets, providing multiple viewing points from the lobby and the escalators, as well as from the street.
